"Flora, Fauna and Roman Heroes, or why the snake bit Eurydice"

A guided tour through the park of Schönbrunn Palace. We will listen to the action-packed heroic sagas based on the many statues and learn interesting facts about the flora and fauna. In the 18th century, architects drew up a garden plan for Maria Theresia, which still includes a classical educational programme today. Themes include the heroes of antiquity such as Hercules, Odysseus, Perseus, Paris and many others (32 statues), but also opulent fountains reflecting ancient empires. The other theme area is the animal and plant world, e.g. the doves in the columbarium, the oak processionary moth, the zoo and the trees and flowers in Sissi's chamber garden.

StadtpARTie - Festival of cultural walks for summer visitors

The two artists and Austria Guides Judith Koller and Gudrun Tielsch call their dreamy summer retreat programme StadtpARTien. In nine selected walks, a familiar festival takes curious summer visitors on a journey into legendary Viennese epochs: from the Fin de Siècle in the Türkenschanzpark with its sagas, myths and legends about its trees, its monuments and its origins as the "Wiener Semmering" to the "Rendezvous with Eternity", the literature promenade at the Vienna Central Cemetery.

The summer walks of StadtpARTien offer besides many interesting facts also literary and musical samples. Under shady trees, in hidden corners a reading, a concert or a picnic basket awaits the excursionists. An Kaisergugelhupf with sparkling wine or melange completes the programme and makes the Viennese summer resort an unforgettable holiday experience full of flair and atmosphere.

Through modern green Vienna: ecology and modern architecture

Modern Vienna is at home on the Danube. Over the past twenty years, office buildings and residential buildings have been built on the Danube's shore motorway. Since 1979, the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna has been located behind it, and with the Austria Center it is the largest congress center in Austria. Andromeda Tower, Tech-Gate Vienna and the Donaucity Church are just a few examples of successful modern architecture. Since 2013, Austria's tallest building, the DC Tower 1 with a height of 220m has been opened and the WU Campus. Six architectural firms from all over the world have been able to realize their plans here. Among them are famous names like Peter Cook, Hitoshi Abe and Zaha Hadid.
