The Hotel Enzian in Obertauern has been around for more than 70 years and was already characterized by the pioneering spirit of its founder Othmar Kuhn, who also built the first lift in the village. Over the past 30 years, Walter Veit and his wife have turned the small Pension Kuhn into what it is today: one of the leading 4-star hotels in Obertauern. Elisabeth “Sissi” Veit, Othmar Kuhn's granddaughter and Walter Veit's daughter, is now the third generation to set up something completely new. Together with her partner, she has not only given the hotel a fresh look since 2023 with the rebranding, but has also really turned it upside down. Four main pillars characterize the future of the Enzian: the adults-only concept with an international flair, three different à la carte restaurants, the theme of workation and sustainability.

The Hotel Enzian is not only “Home of good moods” and impresses with its modern design, but also pursues a sustainable philosophy that is visible in all areas of the hotel - especially in the kitchen. In harmony with the impressive nature of Obertauern, it is important to take responsibility for the environment without neglecting the comfort and wishes of the guests.

The Enzian employs around 50 people from up to 18 different nations. The hotel is only open in the winter months from the end of November to mid-April. The summer break is used for renovations, conversions and further training.
