Bildungshaus Schloss St. Martin is Austria’s oldest educational institution operated by the state of Styria. Located in the west of the Styrian capital Graz, the castle offers a unique atmosphere, surrounded by its own organic orchard against the backdrop of the Buchkogel recreational area. In addition to general adult education, the institution focuses on family education, art, and culture. Schloss St. Martin has a wide range of well-appointed seminar rooms and boardrooms.
The careful use of natural resources is part of what we believe in and how we see ourselves; and this is reflected in various areas of the castle.
Bildungshaus Schloss St. Martin received the Austrian eco-label for tourism and educational institutions in June 2018
Our environmental performance
Folgende Maßnahmen wurden in den letzten Jahren umgesetzt: Nachhaltige Beschaffung, 40 % Bio-Einkauf im Lebensmittelbereich, Optimierung der Haus- und Gebäudetechnik, Begrünung des Innenhofes, Nutzung einer PV Anlage, E-Ladestationen für E-Bike und E-Autos, Neuanlage eines Bio-Obstlehrpfades und eines Lindenhaines. Der Obstbaubetrieb ist seit fast 20 Jahren auf Bio umgestellt. Seit 2022 werden alle Bio-Säfte und Getränke in Mehrwegflaschen abgefüllt. Neu ist seit 2023, dass alle Drucksorten auf umweltzertifiziertem Papier gedruckt werden. 2023 wurde auch der St. Martiner Klimapavillon eröffnet. Damit einher geht die Bewusstseinsbildung im Team.
