Swarovski Crystal Worlds was opened in 1995 to mark the centennial anniversary of the company’s founding. Multimedia artist André Heller designed a unique and magical place. This beloved attraction has brought moments of wonder to over sixteen million visitors from all around the world. Visitors are surprised, touched, and perhaps even transformed by crystal in all its facets.

In keeping with the spirit of company founder Daniel Swarovski, it embraces the philosophy of continual innovation and development, and has already gone through a number of structural enhancements. The largest expansion to date took place in 2015 on the occasion of Swarovski’s 120th anniversary, when the Swarovski Crystal Worlds grounds doubled in size with the addition of an extensive garden landscape. And still more dazzling attractions to discover have been added since that time. Swarovski’s wide-ranging brand portfolio, culinary delights, and the year-round program of events give eloquent testimony to the diverse history of Swarovski Crystal Worlds.

Our environmental achievements

This is what we have already implemented for the environment / for the eco-label:

We have implemented the chamber music festival "Music in the Giant" in May 2022 as GREEN EVENT TIROL basic. In the museum as well as an event location we pay attention to a strict waste separation and best possible waste avoidance.

We are strongly committed to climate-friendly travel for our guests: our own shuttle bus runs several times a day between Innsbruck and Wattens. An e-charging station for electric cars, electric scooters or e-bikes is available directly on the premises and can be used free of charge for the duration of the visit.

For the past three years, we have also been certified as a Green Location with the Austrian Ecolabel as a guarantee for environmental and climate protection.

In 2022, we were pleased with the successful expansion of the Swarovski Crystal Worlds as a Green Museum.

We carry the eco-label because...

... because as one of the most visited tourist attractions in Austria we also have a great responsibility towards our environment, which we take very seriously. Especially in the tourism sector, sustainability and the careful use of resources must be included in every decision; only together can we stand up for a better future.

We have already been dealing intensively with this topic for several years and prioritize increased energy efficiency, waste avoidance, environmentally friendly arrival and departure of guests as well as regional value creation and social responsibility. The award of the Austrian Eco-Label shows us that we are on the right track here.
