The Ötztal extends for around 65 kilometres from Haiming at the entrance to the valley to the high-alpine villages of Vent and Obergurgl. Glaciers, alpine landscapes and long-established villages shape the valley, alongside year-round tourism that is closely connected to everyday life and work in the region.

For us, nature, the regional economy and quality of life are closely interconnected. We understand sustainability as a commitment to environmental, economic and social responsibility. As a tourism destination, we therefore work together with municipalities, businesses and local residents to preserve the character of the Ötztal and develop the region with the future in mind.

The “Lebensraum Ötztal” initiative provides the organisational framework for this work. It connects stakeholders throughout the valley and coordinates measures in areas including energy, mobility, regional value creation and climate action. Our vision is a valley that preserves its roots, uses its resources responsibly and remains an attractive place to live, work and visit for generations to come.
