Cycling together for the environment - every bike ride counts!

The successful motivation and awareness-raising campaign "Austria is cycling" will start a new main season from 20 March to 30 September 2023. Many municipalities, businesses, clubs and schools throughout Austria are already on board as organisers, because cycling is known to make people fit and happy. In addition, they are also committed to climate protection.

Register as an organiser! "Austria Cycles" calls on municipalities, businesses, associations and educational institutions to register as organisers and motivate people to join in cycling. Participation for citizens, employees, members, pupils and students is very easy via online registration on the homepage or the Austria Cycles app. With each registration, the organiser automatically takes part in a national competition, where there are attractive prizes to be won. At the end of the campaign, the most active organisers will be honoured by Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler in the course of a festive ceremony. Incidentally, the award event was organised as a Green Event in 2022 according to the criteria of the Austrian Eco-label.

Collect cycling kilometres and win: The participants collect cycling kilometres for the respective organiser, who is listed in a ranking. All active participants are automatically entered into the lottery with their cycling kilometres and have the chance to win attractive prizes such as bicycles, e-bikes, folding bikes or cycling accessories. Registered cyclists can enter their cycling kilometres online. Participation as an organiser or participant is possible all year round.

For health and climate protection: The more journeys are made by bike, the more everyone benefits: People become fitter, take more care of their health and contribute to lower CO2 emissions. Traffic is reduced, there is less parking pressure and congestion. The motto is: every bike ride counts!
