As a "University of Life", the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) has a special social responsibility: Its core competence lies in researching and communicating opportunities for sustainable use and securing natural resources. Sustainability is reflected in all areas of the university's operations - for example in the BOKU Event Management, which supervises events at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna. In 2014 BOKU has been rated as the most sustainable university in German-speaking countries (GreenMetric World Universitiy Ranking 2014).
