Clear as Claro - Ecolabel product is test winner

A dishwasher is a blessing. Maybe not always for dishes, glasses and cutlery, but at least for the users. But for the washing robot to produce good results, it must be fed with the right dishwashing detergent. The VKI made the test.

The test candidates were challenged hard. They had to remove tea, burnt milk skin, minced meat, egg yolk, crème brulée, egg and cheese casserole, lasagne, pasta, muesli, starch and fat from dishes, glass and stainless steel sheets. And all this at a water temperature of only 45°C. Of course, the main focus of the test was on cleaning. But environmental properties also played a role in the evaluation, with 10 percent of the test results.

Claro's tabs turned out to be the best in both areas. No other product achieves such cleaning power combined with good environmental properties. Claro is therefore the clear test winner - and has also been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel.

What does the Ecolabel say?

Conventional cleaning agents produce large quantities of chemicals that pollute wastewater. Some can also have a negative effect on health.

For cleaning agents with the Austrian Ecolabel, the used chemicals must be easily degradable and must not endanger water organisms. Similarly, those that may affect human health are prohibited or limited to a minimum. Chlorine compounds and microplastics may not be used.

In addition, there are only combinations of materials allowed that do not impair recyclability e.g. at plastic packaging.
